This afternoon I just wanted to "sew"...not embroider, not quilt, "Just Sew". I had pulled out this pattern yesterday to make: Lilly Apron by Busy Bee Quilt Designs. If you know me, you know I HEART aprons! I headed to the magic closet for fabric.
Only 30" of solid gray, 25" of the big dots and only 10 " of the white polka dots. Enough?
Cut off my selvages - which I save.
Cut off my selvages - which I save.
Cut, booted up the machine and got started. I had to add a piece of white for one side of the apron strings.
I LOVE this pattern - I did my "own thing" by adding length and adjustments here and there as I went along. I WILL be making this apron again......browns maybe? I will also line the ruffled panel next time. The BIG pockets are wonderful!
Into the Christmas Box she goes for CTTY.
DD, Kelli, over at Barr Tac had a finish yesterday that I love! Go here to check it out. If you didn't know, Kelli is new to Blogland so go ahead, leave her a message to tell her you stopped by.
Crockpot dinner tonight - new recipe found here. YUM!! Crockpots sure make sewing easy.
Hoping your day was productive as well.
Hugs

What a fun apron Cindy! I love aprons too. ;-) Glad you had such a good day! ((hugs))
I have seen that pattern and always thought it looked super cute. Your fabrics are adorable... even if they aren't your usual... how can you go wrong with polka dots? (I was thinking that it might enhance a bust line that might not need enhancement) What do you think?
Your apron looks great. I've made that same apron a few times. I didn't like a couple of their construction directions so I figured out better ways to do them.
Very cute!!! Love the fabrics too.
Very sweet. I love aprons, too!
So cute! Love the fabrics you used!
Cute, Cute apron! Just gotta love the crockpot!
Your apron is so cute! I love the combination of fabrics. I love aprons but only wear them when something is really messy or I'm wearing something I don't want to ruin. (When I was growing up, my dad used to say I'd make a good bachelor because I wiped everything on my jeans!)
Adorable and fun and filled with spotted goodness!!!
Beautiful pattern & choice of fabrics.
Those dots just make that gray shine! I love how they all play together so nicely! I love aprons as gifts too...for giving as well as receiving. :)
soooooo cute! I made 2 of these aprons for Christmas presents for my daughter and daughter-in-law. Your fabric combinations are wonderful!
Cindy I saw that the lady that runs CTTY is quitting Quilter Blog feed. Does that mean shes not doing CTTY? Do projects for CTTY have to be a certian size? Or can I make ornaments and such?
