This, That & The Rest of the Story

This:   15" sq applique made this past Fall

This:  A cross stitch made in 1988...even back then as I was constructing garments,  quilts were still on my mind...LOL  (excuse the shadows)

This:  Small individual quilted letters of our last name

This:   cross stitch made in "blue" days   (excuse the shadows)

That:  Dresdens seem to be popping up in blogland so I thought I'd share mine - a 4" sq ceramic rendition bought while visiting the Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky many years ago.

& The Rest of the Story:

Several bloggers lately have asked "where was I" for the period I was MIA. I was to meet DD one morning and called her to say I didn't think I could make it.  Hubby was in Texas at the time. DD and SIL took over from there.  I really have no memory of it all, but I was air-lifted by helicopter to Phoenix. It was determined I had a stroke, but thankfully not a massive one.  God was with me.

A while before that I had a horse accident which had left me with short term memory loss and "word loss".  It took a long time before my slurring subsided.

Then, after the additional accident, I now have even less memory, a  less word recall and a LOT less brain.......BUT - see, I still have my sense of humor!!!

DD suggested using only FB for awhile.

BUT - here I am back in Blogland with so many of wonderful people.  Thank you.

Have only logged two miles since Sunday with this darned stomach crud.  Time to get over this nasty stuff.  Hope you're not catching it.

Back to fun stuff - The Magic Closet and sewing.

Hugs.

Oh goodness! I'm certainly happy to hear that you are 'back in the saddle' so to speak, but that must have been scary. You've shared some lovely projects and I hope you're soon feeling well enough to sew up a storm of new ones. Very thankful that you are on the mend from all of your escapades.

I'm so glad you weathered the storm, and made it back to blogland. I've been suffering from memory loss and word loss for a few years now, and I attribute it to menopause. Doesn't get in the way of my sewing, though. Really happy to have you back.

Ohh--I am glad that you have made it through all that illness and are now better for it--and I am so glad that you are back in blogland as I do not do any of those 'other' things like FB--as for the memory loss and word loss--I think that is going around-- I have it all the time too!!!
Hugs, and love, Di and miss gracie

I truly believe a strong sense of humor is terrific medicine. :o) And sewing is the best therapy. Glad you have both.

You have more memory and humor than many. Still, I hope as your body heals you get to 100% of your true self. I think you've just been under too much stress.

Sending positive thoughts & prayers.
