I have named this project even before I get started. The colors say "dull, dreary, overcast and cloudy" to me. Sort of like the weather has been here for the last several days.
This set of 4 FQs is silk. Once more I pulled from the Magic Closet. I know this small bundle is from a quilt shop down in Phoenix. How long ago? That, I cannot answer. They were shoved WAY BACK in the Magic Closet.
Cut into 5" charms.

As suggested online, I used a Sharp size 8 needle, no pins. Now sewn together and fusible interfacing added to back.
Next step: To embroider on different squares. Don't know whether they'll be randomly done or in a pattern across the charms. I'll use a tearaway stabilizer.

And the name of this wall hanging will be: Dreary Snowfall
(guess you now know what the embroideries will be, LOL)
Wishing you warmer weather than we're having.
Hugs

Snowflakes..giggle.
The colors go so nicely with each other. It will be a lovely quilt. (Yep, I'm having warmer weather - and loving it! I'm sitting here in short sleeves. :)
Oh I think it will be anything but dreary! The fabrics are very pretty. Love the 2 munchkins waiting for food. :-) LOL
I think your palette looks rich! But I might call it Winter Calm.
can't wait to see the embroideries on your pretty silk quilt.
I would like to play in your magic closet. Must be some more treasures in there.
Well, I am excited to see what your 'deary' quilt will become??
Hugs, di and miss gracie
I know what you mean about dreary weather. We topped out at 66 degrees today, but it rained all day. And we're expecting snow on Friday. Crazy weather. Did the puppies get fed? They must eat a LOT! Lol!
Embroidering on silk? Sounds divine!
All our snow melted yesterday. After being in a deep freeze for almost two weeks, today it's going to be in the mid 50"s! I don't know what's going on but I'll take it!
I don't think the colors are dreary at all, much more of a "subtle elegance" if you ask me!
I like it! I can't wait to see the embroidery! :0)
HMMMM - what could the embroideries be? I haven't a clue. Please don't leave us in suspense! ROFLOL
I can't wait to see your progress.
Just gorgeous, Cindy! What a great idea to sew without pins and the stabilizer is perfect. I can't wait to see what you embroider! I hope the doggies had a feast ;>)
Cheers!
Those are the colors I am using in my next project - they are the colors in their home and I am making a quilt for them. The color combination is growing on me - seeing yours, I like it even more. Very classic and soothing.Somehow I think your puppies won't let you forget when it's supper time! :)
