I have been busy "Getting Prepared" for future sewing. The first 2 photos are blocks that are now prepared to be machine appliquéd from the Pumpkinville BOM by FQS. I actually have 3 "packages" to do since I never did start when the BOMs arrived. The first package contained 2 blocks. The directions are for needle turn. I am cutting my blocks a tad bigger to accommodate for not turning under the pieces.
Before ironing on the pieces, I added fusible interfacing to the back of each block. I'll have a bit of embellishing to do too for eyes, leaves, etc. Oh how I wish I could applique like Carrie. She's the professional!! But no, I do it by machine.
Also now cut and ready to go are the pieces for Terry's monthly Sew-A-Long. I am using Double Chocolat by 3 Sisters. Instead of cutting a charm pack, I am using 4 Mini-Charm Packs. For the sashing, I'm using a Jelly Roll.
Also wanted to share what arrived in Saturday's mail: A FQ Bundle of Chocolat (the original Chocolat) by 3 Sisters from Carol over at Brown Quilts Blog. There are 30 FQs! I LOVE Chocolat - no matter how it is spelled or what it looks like. CJ - I can hear you pleading for some. LOL
And, with being ready for Darlene's next Mystery Quilt installment, I might be able to get a little "side sewing" started, a noncommittal item. Oops, never mind, have to catch up on the Christmas Favorites BOM first.
Lastly, I am now prepared for taxes. We just have to get a few more vital year end documents in the mail and I'll fill in the blanks. I don't think I've ever been ready this early.
Leftover spaghetti for dinner tonight. I use Quinoa for the pasta, a great alternative to the heavy, unhealthy regular spaghetti noodles.
Hugs
